SSI Scuba Diver Course – Koh Lipe

Short on time but still want to become a certified diver? With the SSI Scuba Diver Course, you can earn an internationally recognised diving certification in just 2 days.

The SSI Scuba Diver Course is a great option if you don’t have enough time to complete the full Open Water Diver Course. Once certified, you can dive anywhere in the world to a maximum depth of 12 metres, under the direct supervision of a diving professional.

The course includes dive theory, confined-water training and 2 open-water dives around Koh Lipe.

Learn the Basics

You’ll complete the first three sections of the SSI Open Water Diver theory, covering the essential knowledge you need to dive safely and comfortably.

The theory takes approximately 3 hours and includes knowledge reviews and quizzes along the way.

Practice Your Dive Skills

Next, we’ll head into the calm, shallow water from one of Koh Lipe’s beaches for your confined-water training.

You’ll practise around 15 essential scuba skills, including:

• Mask-clearing and mask skills
• Buoyancy control
• Regulator skills
• Basic emergency procedures

You’ll also need to complete a 10-minute float as part of the course requirements.

Then Comes the Fun Part!

Once you’re comfortable with your skills, it’s time to explore Koh Lipe underwater.

You’ll complete 2 open-water dives to a maximum depth of 12 metres, giving you the chance to put everything you’ve learned into practice while experiencing some of Koh Lipe’s beautiful coral reefs and marine life.

Complete Your Theory Before You Arrive

Want to spend less time studying and more time diving?

Once you’ve registered through the MySSI app, you can complete your digital theory before arriving in Koh Lipe.

Complete the theory in advance and your practical training can be completed in just 2 days on the island.

After certification, you’ll be qualified to dive to 12 metres with a diving professional — and if you decide you want to continue, you can later upgrade to the full SSI Open Water Diver certification.
