HAT YAI TO KOH LIPE
The easiest way to reach Koh Lipe from the Thai Mainland is by flying into Hat Yai Airport. From there you can catch a shared minivan or private taxi to Pak Bara Pier, where the speedboats depart 2-4 times daily for Koh Lipe. The minivan/taxi can pick you up from the airport, train station or any hotel in Hat Yai and takes around 1.5 hours to get to Pak Bara. The boat from Pak Bara to Koh Lipe then takes a further 1.5 hours.
NEED TO KNOW…
- —To avoid spending a night in Hat Yai or Pak Bara and maximise your time spent on beautiful Koh Lipe, be sure to book a flight landing no later than 10.30am. This will ensure you can make the last boat departure of the day from Pak Bara.
- —When leaving Pak Bara, everyone is required to pay the Marine Park Entry Fee of 220THB. You will receive a ticket which you need to keep for use on snorkel trips and boat tours to the islands surrounding Koh Lipe.
- —When your boat arrives to Koh Lipe, as there is no pier, you will dock to the floating platform.
- —Travel between Hat Yai and Koh Lipe is open all year round. During high season (October-June) there are 3 departure times per day, and outside of this 2 departures per day.

LANGKAWI TO KOH LIPE
The easiest way to reach Koh Lipe from Malaysia is by ferry from Langkawi. There are 1-2 departure times per day, and you can select between Telaga Terminal (closest to the airport and a little more expensive) and Kuah Jetty for departure. The ferry takes 1.5hrs to reach Koh Lipe.
NEED TO KNOW…
- —To avoid spending a night in Langkawi and maximising your time spent on beautiful Koh Lipe, be sure to book a flight landing no later than 12pm midday. This will ensure you can make the last boat departure of the day from Langkawi.
- —When travelling from Langkawi, you are required to check in at least 1 hour before departure time.
- —When your boat arrives to Koh Lipe, as there is no pier, you will dock to the floating platform.
- — Everyone is required to pay 200THB fee for the Marine Park Entry Fee. You will receive a ticket which you need to keep for use on snorkel trips and boat tours to the islands surrounding Koh Lipe.
- —When you arrive to the beach at Koh Lipe, you will be required to go through immigration, which can take up to 1 hour.
- —Travel between Langkawi and Koh Lipe is limited to high season only (between October-June). Outside of those months, the best way to reach Lipe from Langkawi is by boat to Satun and then by boat from Pak Bara. This will add an extra day to your travel time.



LANTA TO KOH LIPE
Coming from Koh Lanta to Koh Lipe there is one speedboat departure per day at 10:30am from Saladan Pier. The journey takes approximately 3hrs .

- —When travelling from Koh Lanta, you are required to check in at least 30 minutes before departure time.
- —When your boat arrives to Koh Lipe, as there is no pier, you will dock to the floating platform.
- — Everyone is required to pay a 200THB Marine Park Entry Fee. You will receive a ticket which you need to keep for use on snorkel trips and boat tours to the islands surrounding Koh Lipe.
- —Boat travel between Koh Lanta and Koh Lipe is limited to high season only (between October-June). Outside of those months, the best way to reach Lipe from Lanta is over land via Trang.

PHI PHI TO KOH LIPE
If you visit our sister dive shop on Phi Phi Blue View Divers, you have 2 main options to come visit us in Lipe!
The first option is via speedboat, which departs Tonsai Pier at 9:30am and takes around 4 hours. The second option is via ferry to Krabi, which takes around 2 hours and then a minivan to Pak Bara, which takes around 4 hours. Here you will need to spend one night before catching the speedboat to Lipe Island the next day.
The direct speedboat is more expensive but considerably faster and the ferry is comfortable and more appropriate for budget travellers.

- —When your boat arrives to Koh Lipe, as there is no pier, you will dock to the floating platform.

- —Boat travel between Koh Phi Phi and Koh Lipe is limited to high season only (between October-June). Outside of those months, the best way to reach Lipe from Phi Phi is over land via Krabi.




PHUKET TO KOH LIPE
Coming from Phuket to Koh Lipe, you have 2 main options, the first option is via speedboat, the departure is 8:30am and takes around 5hours. The second option is via land, here you can get a minivan to Pak Bara, via Krabi or Trang. This takes around a total of 7 hours and then you will need spend one night in Pak Bara before catching the speedboat to Lipe Island the next morning.
The speedboat more expensive but considerably faster and the ferry is comfortable and more appropriate for budget travellers.
