Children and diving on Koh Lipe
So as you may already know SCUBA Diving comes with certain ages limits. We have listed out our courses and trips available for children. The minimum age to try SCUBA diving is 8 years old and the minimum age to get your first diving license is 10 years old.
Age Limits for Diving.
8 – 9 Years – SCUBA Rangers
Under 8 Years – Snorkeling.
10-15 Years – Junior Open Water
12-15 Years – Junior Advanced Open Water
12-15 Years – Junior Rescue Diver
15+ Years – SSI Open Water Course
15+ Years – SSI Advanced Open Water
18 Years – Divemaster/Instructor

SCUBA Ranger
Price From – 2,000 THB
Minimum Age – 8-12 years old
Duration – 1 Day
The SSI Scuba Rangers Program is a club that offers numerous diving activities for children ages 8 – 12. Safety is a top priority and Scuba Rangers programs are only taught by specially trained instructors in a pool, or under confined water conditions in a protected area up to a maximum depth of 5 meters. You will earn the Scuba Rangers recognition rating.
Intermediate Scuba Ranger
After completion of the Scuba Rangers Development Program and two (2) Scuba Rangers Specialties, the student will be certi ed as an SSI Intermediate Scuba Ranger.
Advanced Scuba Ranger
After completion of the Scuba Rangers Development Program and four (4) Scuba Ranger Specialties, the student will be certi ed as an SSI Advanced Scuba Ranger.
Master Scuba Ranger
After completion of the Scuba Rangers Development Program and eight (8) Scuba Ranger Specialties (including the Rescue/Safety Specialty), the student will be certi ed as an SSI Master Scuba Ranger.

Snorkeling
Price From – 550 THB
Minimum Age – 2+
Duration – 1 Day
We have a few options for snorkelling you can either join our dive boat with a snorkel guide or go on our Sunset Eco snorkeling Tour.
The snorkelling around Koh Lipe is very beautiful with shallow reefs you can still see a lot of the local marine life. If you wish to join on our dive boat to snorkel it would require a guide to come with you. Ko Lipe is subjected to quite strong currents around full moon so it is always better to go snorkelling with a professional with you.
The other option for a snorkelling trip is to join one of snorkeling trips which leaves everyday at 1.30pm. This trip goes to many different snorkelling spots around Ko Lipe. This trip is also 1,000Baht per person.

Try SCUBA

The Discover SCUBA Diving is a great experiences that can count toward the Full Open Water Course.
Discover SCUBA Diving is an amazing experience for all ages but the minimum age limit for this experience is 10 years old. If your child is older than 10 then this is an amazing way to get into SCUBA diving.
It is an exciting, relaxed and safe introduction to scuba diving, closely supervised by a SSI Instructor. We teach you some basic skills and review the safety aspects of diving before you enjoy 1 or 2 dives to 12 metres!
You will have to check a Medical Statement. before you join us for this dive experience.
One of the Discover SCUBA Diving dives counts towards on of your dive in the SSI Open Water Course.

Junior Open Water – 14,500Baht
Price – 14,500 THB
Duration – 3-4 Days
Minimum Age – 10 years old
Depth Limit 10-11 years – 12 metres
Depth Limit – 12+ years 18 metres
If your child is above then they can complete the SSI Junior Open Water Course.
This course has all the same skills from the SSI Open Water just has the depth limits mentioned above. Diving around Ko Lipe is generally quite shallow diving so you get to see all the beautiful reef and fish from less than 10 metres.

If you wish to complete all the theory at home before coming to Ko Lipe then you can complete Elearning before your arrive.
Dive Medical Check
NOTE:
We must let you know that certain medical conditions may prevent you from scuba diving such as asthma and heart conditions. If you are currently taking any medications, or are unsure about your fitness to dive, please have a look at the Diving Medical Questionnaire. If you answer YES to any to any questions listed then you must print out the RSTC Medical form and take it to your physician prior to coming to Thailand.

Diving Discounts
200 THB discount per dive with own equipment (own Equipment discount applies if you have own BCD, Regulator and Wetsuit).
We offer 10% discount off diving day trips or 700B discount from any SSI Course if;
• You completed a SSI Course with us previously
• You completed a SSI Course with Blue View Divers on Koh Phi Phi
• You are a Professional Diver with current/renewed license status
• You are a guest in our Eco-Lodge Sunrise or Eco-Village Sunset
• You dive with us in Green Season (May 15th-October 15th)
PLEASE NOTE: Only one discount can be applied per person at any time.
Cancellation Policy
DEPOSITS
Deposit of 1,000 THB (fun divers) or 3000 THB (courses) are none refundable.
CANCELLATIONS
We require advance notice for cancellations and/or changes to your booking.
Any no shows/cancellations after 7pm the evening prior to diving, will not
be refunded and require full payment.
(+5 % charge where applicable)
COURSES
If for any reason you cannot complete a training course, you will receive
partial refund for the sections not completed.
If you require additional training to meet the course requirements, we reserve the right
to charge for additional dives and pool sessions.
